Spring certainly seems ready to arrive. The early morning sun at kingsdown beach makes the first swim of the year seem nearer. The new sea defences are holding well. They kept the stormy seas of 2016 in check, keeping this lovely seaside town safe. The combination of newly aligned groynes, boulders and beach replenishment, should last well into the future and hopefully beyond the 40 years of the previous groynes. Dover district council and east Kent engineering partnership did a sterling job.
